GLUING TECHNOLOGY
Replacing mechanical joints by gluing technology gives the structure considerably better properties in stress resistance. At the same time, it eliminates the metal “spikes” or screws which leak condense water into the structure.
The elasticity of the joints ensure that a rigid bodywork does not weaker the vehicle’s riding quality. NEK bodies’ gluing technology is constantly improved to meet new challenges. NEK primarily uses MS polymer gluing, familiar from aircraft construction. This gives the user many benefits and makes it possible for NEK to grant a long warranty as to the body structure.
STRUCTURE MATERIALS
The gluing technology presupposes material properties which ensure the durability of the joints. For instance, wooden profiles or glued laminated beams have been replaced with other materials, eliminating also the problems of swelling of wooden structures when they get damp.
The door frame materials have to be durable and stress-resistant over a long period of time, when using the gluing technology. Stainless steel is the ultimate material in back and side frames. Joining steel with other materials through gluing allows for different thermal expansion coefficients without sacrificing the durability of the structure.
FLOOR AND SUBFRAME
A sturdy floor is the heart of the body structure. Added with the strongest subframe system of delivery bodies, we wan proudly confirm that also these details fulfil the strict NEK standards.
As to the floor coating, the customer can choose between phenolic resin, plastic, mass, or aluminium coating depending on his transport requirements. When required, the floor can be equipped with three- or four-section underfloor heating system using liquid circulation tubes.
UV RESISTANCE
Good UV resistance of surface structure is more and more important today. This is taken into account in NEK bodies, in every material choice. The gelcoat finish of the surfaces gives them a manyfold better UV protection compared with cheaper finishing methods.
RECYCLABILITY
Sustainable development is paid extra attention in NEK bodies. Only the lamps and electric wires used in the body are classified as refuse tip waste. All the other materials can be recycled or reused as fuel in energy plants.
