Quality, environmental and safety issues are central in our business culture and they guide our daily operations. According to our zero-defect policy, it is our ambition to achieve the following goals: no customer complaints, no workplace accidents, no environmental deviations.
Finlog Audit Oy has certified our operations, including:
- SFS-EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality assurance system

- OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational health and safety management system
NEK Ltd has also been awarded Kultainen avain (The Golden Key) diploma assigned by Suomalaisen Työn Liitto (Association for Finnish Work). This diploma is awarded to Finnish companies which excel in innovation, courage, quality and know-how.
QUALITY
Reaching the quality objectives is the first prerequisite for successful and competitive operation, through appropriate working methods and our staff’s positive attitude and commitment to excellence.
With our working quality system, NEK’s customers receive assurance that the ordered products and work are executed according to the agreement. To comply with the tight schedule, we keep on developing our whole operation and quality of our products. The quality of our products is ensured by using the latest production methods and inspecting the final products and raw materials.
ENVIRONMENT
Continuous monitoring of material efficiency is one of our most important ways to take care of our environment. The development of our production aims at the highest level of material efficiency.
We enhance utilization of materials by careful sorting and recycling of the waste generated by our operation. In addition, we continually search for new and more environmentally friendly methods to improve our production and operation.
Demands for sustainable environmental development are taken into account in the manufacturing process as follows:
a) Primarily we try to minimize the environmental load already in the planning phase i.a. with regard to choice of materials, material suppliers, material loss and work methods,
b) Almost all of the used materials can be recycled or used in space heating,
c) The waste caused by production is sorted as follows:
- about 55% is delivered sorted to be used in heating (e.g. wood and plastics)
- about 40% is delivered sorted to be reused (e.g. metal and paper)
- about 4,5% is delivered sorted to be placed in refuse tip (e.g. certain plastics and cleaning waste)
- about 0,5% is delivered sorted to toxic waste disposal plant (e.g. fluorescent lamps, batteries of hand-held tools)
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
Zero accidents is our clear goal for workplace accidents. Continuous cooperation with outsourced supportive services aims at finding the prospective problems in advance. “Near misses” are recorded and they are remedied quickly.
The chance to plan one’s own working hours makes it possible for our staff to combine their work and personal life flexibly. We also encourage our personnel to keep fit e.g. by participating in the financing of different forms of exercise.
